Filmed in the San Francisco Bay Area in the summer of 1973, the film was a high school project using Super 8 film. Ruthless loan shark, Conioto (Nathan Shanalec) had a mean reputation, and was highly feared because of his many ties to the criminal underworld. A man in debt, Mr. Grunner, borrowed money from Conioto's organization, but was soon behind in his bills. Conioto brought in a womanizing two-bit street thug, Ken Peters (Mike Carroll Jr.), to encourage Mr. Grunner to be more prompt with his payment schedule. The mob boss ordered Peters to kill Grunner's son, Doug (Doug Brusig). Peters followed Doug Grunner and his girl friend (Mary Hansen Westaby), as they spent the day at a California beach side amusements park. However, Doug's girl friend began to notice that they were being followed. During a heated car chase, the Grunner boy managed to escape after Peters ran out of gas. An irate Conioto told Peters that he had one more chance, giving him a one-way ticket to Reno Nevada when his assignment was completed. Back to THE PUNK |
